The Photo Essay

It’s exciting trying to tell a story using nothing but photographs (with maybe just a little bit of text to explain the non-obvious).  It takes little more than a relatively decent camera and a small off-camera flash to create some truly professional looking essays.

This class will demonstrate everything necessary for producing a finished photo essay.  Included will be how to select a subject, determining what to shoot, capturing the images you want, and putting it all together.  Students will be producing their own photo essays outside of class, with our meetings used to view, discuss, and evaluate their work.

Prerequisite: A basic understanding of how your camera works and feeling comfortable shooting with it
